Dr. Sathya Doraiswamy is a senior public health professional with 20 years of experience in Academia, Government, NGOs, and in the UN. His academic background is a Bachelor in Medicine/ Surgery and Masters in Community Medicine from Chennai, India. He holds a Doctor of Health from the University of Bath, UK. He has graduate diplomas in Applied Population Research, Applied Statistics and Human Resource Management. He has worked and taught in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and the Middle-East in various capacities. Bulk of his career has been in supporting humanitarian sexual and reproductive health responses for conflict affected populations. He has special interests in refugee health, sexual and reproductive health and rights for marginalized communities and health systems strengthening particularly in fragile settings. He has several publications in leading journals and has presented in many global conferences. He is currently based in Doha, Qatar and is a Representative designate for the United Nations Population Fund and is all set to start a new chapter in his career from April 2021.
