Sub County Public Health Nurse , Mvita
Leochrist Shali Mwanyumba is a registered community health nurse who also holds a bachelors of science degree in nursing. She started her career in 2003, working for the ministry of health and is currently the sub county public health nurse for Mvita in Mombasa County. She has done a number of short courses on reproductive maternal child health and majorly on family planning. In 2017, she was trained as a Sisi Kwa Sisi family planning coach. Since then, she has managed to cascade knowledge and skills through coaching to family planning service providers and other health workers across health facilities in Kisauni, Nyali, and Mvita sub counties. This has enabled implementation of high-impact activities, both in classic family planning and youth friendly services. She has also managed to mentor some of her coachees to be coaches to create self-reliance. Through coaching a lot of learning has taken place to include even diffusion and adaptation of quality and sustainable evidence-based family planning and adolescent sexual and reproductive health information and services in Mombasa County.
