Programme Manager, Amref Health Africa Uganda
Michael Muyonga is a Programme Manager for the HEROES 4GTA programme at Amref Health Africa, leading a team of over 30 staff. He is a social sector development specialist with a bias in strategic communication and community health with a Master's Degree in Social Sector Planning and Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University Kampala, he has over 20 years of experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring community health programs, with over 70% of this time focused on adolescent girls and young women. He recently served as Director Community Linkages and Demand Generation for USAID RHITES SW, overseeing DREAMS Lite in the South Western Region, gender integration, adolescent health, demand generation, and community linkages. Michael also served as the Ministry of Health DREAMS Coordinator/Programme Officer, overseeing the initial 10 pilot districts and has participated in the development of national health guidelines in health promotion, adolescent health, gender, and violence against children.
