Across July and August 2023, the Knowledge SUCCESS East Africa team hosted their third Learning Circles cohort with twenty-two FP/RH practitioners from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, and Ghana.
Across our regional work in East Africa, the Knowledge SUCCESS project has prioritized knowledge management (KM) capacity strengthening and ongoing mentorship as a key strategy to sustaining effective use of KM approaches across individuals, organizations, and networks.
Learning Circles are held virtually (four weekly two-hour sessions) or in person (three full consecutive days), in English and in French. The first cohorts were facilitated by Knowledge SUCCESS regional program officers, but to ensure the sustainability of the model, Knowledge SUCCESS has since partnered with other organizations (such as FP2030 and Breakthrough ACTION) to train them to facilitate.
As we extend a warm welcome to the 2024 members of the steering committee, we express profound gratitude to the outgoing team for their invaluable experiences and insights. Join us in celebrating their journey and gathering wisdom to empower the incoming team.
To explore what works and what doesn't work in family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) programs, the Knowledge SUCCESS project launched Learning Circles, an activity designed to meet the need for transparent dialogue and learning between diverse FP/RH professionals.
38 family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) workforce members came together for the 2022 East Africa Learning Circles cohort. Through structured group dialogues, they shared and learned from each other’s practical experiences, on what works and what doesn’t in improving FP/RH access and use.
Ce dialogue offre une occasion d’explorer des idées, d’en lancer et d’obtenir, ou de proposer, de nouvelles idées et des outils pour engendrer le changement de normes sociales.
A synthesis of learnings from a cohort of family planning workforce members in Asia who came together to discuss what works and what doesn’t in engaging men and boys in FP/RH.
In June 2021, Knowledge SUCCESS launched FP insight, the first resource discovery and curation tool built by and for the family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) workforce. The platform addresses common knowledge management concerns expressed by those working in FP/RH. It allows users to curate collections of resources on FP/RH topics so they can easily return to those resources when they need them. Professionals can follow colleagues in their field and get inspiration from their collections and stay on top of trending topics in FP/RH. With over 750 members from Africa, Asia, and the United States sharing cross-cutting FP/RH knowledge, FP insight had an impactful first year! Exciting new features are on the horizon as FP insight rapidly evolves to best meet the diverse knowledge needs of the FP/RH community.
