An East Central and Southern Africa College of Nursing (ECSACON) event in collaboration with Knowledge SUCCESS

September 13-17, 2022

The East, Central, and Southern Africa College of Nursing (ECSACON) was established in 1990 as an executing arm of the then Commonwealth Regional Health Community Secretariat for East, Central, and Southern Africa (CRHCS-ECSA) in the area of nursing and midwifery. The Arusha-based CRHC-ECSA secretariat, which is now referred to as ECSA Health Community (ECSA HC), brings together 14 regional states. ECSA Health Community’s mandate is to promote and encourage efficiency and relevance in the provision of health-related services in the region. Its mission is to promote the highest standards of health for individuals, families, and communities in the ECSA region. ECSACON, the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Eswatini, and its partners are organizing the 15th Biennial Scientific Conference and the 7th Quadrennial General Assembly. The event will be held from September 13-17, 2022 at Esibayeni Lodge Matsapha – Manzini, Eswatini. The theme for the conference is ‘Nursing and Midwifery around the world: An investment to attain Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).’

Sub-themes

  • Building a sustainable improvement for the Nursing and Midwifery workforce
  • COVID19 Pandemic: Lesson learned from Nurses and Midwives at the frontline
    • Innovation and use of digital technologies in nursing and midwifery
  • Communicable and Non-communicable diseases, including mental health
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health: Nurses and Midwives leading the reduction of unsafe abortion, prematurity, and stillbirth

At the conference, Knowledge SUCCESS East Africa will host a side event, with the goal of further documenting research work and creating awareness about the importance of Knowledge Management in improving global health outcomes. Knowledge SUCCESS team members will guide FP/RH practitioners through how the Troika Consulting method can be utilized as a problem-solving technique for programmatic work.
