WEBINAR:

Impact of COVID-19 on Female Genital Mutilation and Cutting (FGM/C) in East Africa

In partnership with Advocacy Acclerator, join Amref Health Africa on December 9, 2021 at 11:30am EAT as they discuss the current situation, implementation challenges, innovations, and successes achieved in addressing FGM within East Africa since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

As we observe this year’s 16 days of Activism against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, it is important for FP/RH advocates, policymakers, practitioners and developing partners to have a candid conversation about the current situation within their constituencies. This webinar provides an opportunity to discuss the current situation, implementation challenges, innovations, and successes achieved in addressing FGM within East Africa since COVID-19 knocked on our doors two years ago.

  • Share approaches that have been used to increase awareness and serve victims of FGM during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Propose strategies and approaches by which policymakers, advocates, implementing partners and development partners can strengthen initiatives against FGM beyond the pandemic.
