Descriptive analysis of financial data trends in Nigeria, specifically in Ebonyi State, painted a rather gloomy picture for family planning (FP). High Impact Practices in Family Planning (HIPs) are a set of evidence-based family planning practices vetted by experts against specific criteria and documented in an easy-to-use format. The Evaluation of High Impact Practices in Family Planning Products sought to understand whether and how HIP products were being used among health professionals at the country and global levels. Using key informant interviews (KIIs), a small study team found that various HIP products are used by family planning experts and professionals to inform policy, strategy, and practice.
Marie Stopes Uganda’s Gulu Light Outreach provides free mobile clinics that engage Northern Ugandan communities on reproductive health. Using peer-to-peer influence and outreach in markets and community centers, the team educates young people on contraceptives. It aims to spur family planning and support a culture that prioritizes the futures of its youth and the sustainability of its environment.
