Connecting Conversations was an online discussion series centered on exploring timely topics in Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (AYSRH). The series occurred over the course of 21 sessions grouped into themed collections and held across 18 months, from July 2020 to November 2021. Over 1000 speakers, young people, youth leaders, and those working in the AYSRH field from across the globe convened virtually to share the experiences, resources, and practices that have informed their work. Knowledge SUCCESS recently completed an evaluation of the Connecting Conversations series.
Over the course of 18 months, FP2030 and Knowledge SUCCESS hosted 21 sessions of Connecting Conversations. The interactive series brought together speakers and participants from around the world for dialogues around timely topics in adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH). Here we explore the answers to some of the series’ top questions.
On November 18, Knowledge SUCCESS and FP2030 hosted the fourth and final session in our concluding set of conversations in the Connecting Conversations series. In this session, speakers discussed critical ways to improve trust-based partnerships with youth-led organizations, donors, and NGOs to effectively improve AYSRH.
On November 11, Knowledge SUCCESS and FP2030 hosted the third session in our final set of conversations in the Connecting Conversations series. In this session, speakers discussed key considerations for scaling up effective and evidence-based programs to ensure that impact is far-reaching across youth populations and geographies.
On October 28, Knowledge SUCCESS and FP2030 hosted the second session in our final set of discussions in the Connecting Conversations series. In this session, speakers explored strengths, challenges, and lessons learned in implementing multi-sectoral programming in AYSRH and why multi-sectoral approaches are key to rethinking AYSRH service provision.
On October 14, 2021, FP2030 and Knowledge SUCCESS hosted the first session in our final set of conversations in the Connecting Conversations series. In this session, speakers explored what makes Positive Youth Development (PYD) different from other adolescent and youth frameworks, and why embracing one of the central tenets of youth as assets, allies, and agents of change in Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (AYSRH) programming will increase positive reproductive health outcomes.
On August 5, 2021, Knowledge SUCCESS and FP2030 hosted the fourth session in the fourth module of the Connecting Conversations series: Celebrating the Diversity of Young People, Finding New Opportunities to Address Challenges, Building New Partnerships. This particular session focused on how to ensure that young people from sexual and gender minorities have their SRH needs met considering the societal challenges they face.
On July 22, 2021, Knowledge SUCCESS and FP2030 hosted the third session in the fourth module of the Connecting Conversations series: Celebrating the Diversity of Young People, Finding New Opportunities to Address Challenges, Building New Partnerships. This particular session focused on how to ensure that young people’s SRH needs are met in settings in which health systems may be strained, fractured, or non-existent.
A recap of the July 8 session of Knowledge SUCCESS and FP2030's Connecting Conversations series: "Celebrating the Diversity of Young People, Finding New Opportunities to Address Challenges, Building New Partnerships."
