Webinar: How can we double the uptake of modern contraceptives by 2030?

That One Thing - The one FP/RH update you need to focus on this week

Dear Family Planning Champion,

A recent study in Burkina Faso showed that a behavior change approach using mass media doubled the rate of increase of contraceptive uptake. As family planning program planners, managers, and evaluators, we must ask if broader lessons can be gleaned from this study.

Could this behavior change strategy be applied to different contexts with a high unmet need for modern family planning, and if so, how? An upcoming webinar will reflect on these questions.

OUR PICK THIS WEEK

Webinar: How can we double the uptake of modern contraceptives by 2030?

Join Development Media International on Tuesday, April 20th at 11:00am-12:30pm EDT (16:00-17:30 GMT) as speakers convene to share the results of the recent Family Planning Randomized Controlled Trial. This study involved a radio behavior change campaign across Burkina Faso to test whether mass media can successfully influence behaviors associated with family planning and uptake of modern contraceptives.

The Ouagadougou Partnership, an organization of nine francophone countries, has united behind the goal of doubling the modern contraceptive prevalence rate in West Africa by 2030. This webinar will use the study results to reflect on how to achieve this, and will be a relevant discussion for any FP/RH professional working in social behavior change and family planning. The webinar will include live interpretation in French.
