Dear Family Planning Champion,
If you work in reproductive health, you’ve found yourself wondering at some time or another about how to ensure a project is effective and meets the needs of women and girls. The Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (NURHI) is a shining example of such a project.
The last ten years have been an inspiring journey for NURHI, filled with important milestones. Spanning six urban cities in the first phase (2009-2015) and expanding to six states in the second (2015-2020), the project is a testament to collaboration, partnership, and demand-driven activities. It has contributed greatly to improved contraceptive prevalence rates and strengthened family planning governance and social norms in Nigeria.
