That One Thing - The one FP/RH update you need to focus on this week

Dear Family Planning Champion,

The World Health Organization (WHO) has set global standards for quality health care services for adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH). Global standards like these can help set national agendas for ASRH services, influence funding streams, and guide program designers and implementers. Technical Brief: Assessing the Application of WHO Global Standards For ASRH in Five West African Countries

In partnership with governments and civil society organizations in Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger, Intrahealth’s Strengthening Civil Society for Family Planning Plus (CS4FP Plus) project  sought to examine how much ASRH service delivery in those countries aligned with global standards. Read their technical brief to learn about what they found related to:

  • Percentage of facilities offering services according to global standards
  • Degree to which adolescent-friendly services are offered in facilities
  • Barriers to the provision of ASRH services
  • Recommendations for improving accessibility and quality of ASRH services.
