Word on the Street: African Women Share Their Reproductive Health Stories

That One Thing - The one FP/RH update you need to focus on this week

Dear Family Planning Champion,

Behind all of the family planning and reproductive health data are real stories that offer vital lessons. Word on the Street is an honest look into the lives and reproductive experiences of women in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Uganda. It integrates data and real-life stories to advocate for the use of multipurpose prevention technologies (MPTs)—innovative products that can simultaneously prevent HIV, other STIs, and/or unintended pregnancy.

OUR PICK THIS WEEK

Word on the Street: African Women Share Their Reproductive Health Stories

The Initiative for Multipurpose Prevention Technologies’ (IMPT) interactive map explores ideas and experiences. Click on the different regions to meet the people behind the data: young African women, male partners, grandmothers, and health care providers. You’ll also hear from the African researchers who are working to improve their lives. These first-hand stories uplift the diversity of women’s sexual and reproductive choices, needs, and desires.
