Video: PMA Datasets Request Tutorial

That One Thing - The one FP/RH update you need to focus on this week

Dear Family Planning Champion,

Access to high-quality data is a common obstacle in implementing and designing programs and policies for family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) initiatives around the world. What works in one country or context will not necessarily work in another. This is why the free online PMA Datasets are such a crucial resource.

Do you know how to access the PMA Datasets? A new video tutorial shows you how.

Video: PMA Datasets Request Tutorial

The Performance Monitoring for Action (PMA) project aims to fuel a “data revolution” in FP/RH through longitudinal surveys and a new cross-sectional panel design that fills-in data gaps in different countries. What is unique about PMA data is that it tracks contraceptive use for the same individuals and households over time, which other surveys do not typically capture.

This six-and-a-half minute tutorial video shows you very clearly the steps you’ll need to take to request access to a dataset. For each country, datasets are available in the following survey types:

  1. Household and Female
  2. Service Delivery Point;
  3. GPS coordinates (per enumeration area)

Check out this video to learn how you can access and use PMA’s high-quality datasets to inform your program implementation, policy work, or research. The video is only available in English, but French speakers can read these steps in French.
