Webinar on Adolescent Fertility: Addressing the FP Needs of Adolescents Who Are in Union or Are First-time Parents

That One Thing - The one FP/RH update you need to focus on this week

Dear Family Planning Champion,

Although global efforts to prevent early marriage have accelerated, the practice continues in many countries. Early marriage can lead to higher rates of closely spaced pregnancies, which can then lead to prenatal and postnatal complications.

To better help practitioners understand the needs of this population, FP2030 and Knowledge SUCCESS are teaming up for a webinar to address the family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) needs of adolescents who are married, in-union, and/or first-time parents.

OUR PICK THIS WEEK

Webinar on Adolescent Fertility: Addressing the FP Needs of Adolescents Who Are in Union or Are First-time Parents

On October 6, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. ET, join FP2030 and Knowledge SUCCESS as they explore opportunities and approaches to reach and meet the FP needs of married and in-union young people and young people who are first-time parents. Often, AYSRH program messaging solely focuses on unmarried adolescents to prevent unintended pregnancy, however, studies show many young women who are married or in-union are vulnerable to early pregnancy. Quality FP services can be an effective approach to improve FP/RH outcomes for these groups.

Register for the webinar to dig into essential data on adolescent fertility, discuss the main drivers of adolescent pregnancy, and explore programs and resources to reach married and in-union young people and young first-time parents.
