Managing Director, Tamùkke Feminists

Akola Thompson is a feminist organizer and researcher guided by intersectional Black Caribbean praxis. She is currently the Managing Director of Tamùkke Feminists, a public education and rights-based collective in Guyana. Akola holds a MSc in Sustainable Development from the University of Sussex and is currently undertaking a PhD in Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies with a specialization in Environment & Sustainability, at Western University.
