Announcing The Pitch Season 3

You could be awarded up to $50,000 USD to start or scale your knowledge management (KM) idea.

The Pitch is a global competition that provides funding to start or scale knowledge management (KM) initiatives in select countries in Africa and Asia. Organizations working in the field of family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) may apply. The Pitch is hosted by Knowledge SUCCESS with support from USAID.

Knowledge management—the way we access, share and use information—is one of our most valuable assets to address family planning challenges. This year, passionate and innovative entrepreneurs in Asia and Africa will pitch their game-changing idea to a panel of judges for the opportunity to be awarded up to $50,000 each for implementation over a five-month period and $3,000 to market and promote their innovation.

The Pitch: Funding Knowledge Champions in Family Planning. Season 3 application is open!

Season 3 Theme and Application Deadline

The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, November 29th at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Season 3 of The Pitch will fund locally driven KM innovations for YOUTH-LED and/or YOUTH-FOCUSED FP/RH programs. We are particularly interested in programs that use positive youth development (PYD) and gender transformative approaches.

Briefly, PYD engages youth along with their families, communities, and/or governments so that youth are empowered to reach their full potential. PYD approaches build skills, assets and competencies; foster healthy relationships; strengthen the environment; and transform systems. Gender transformative interventions recognize gender norms and inequalities, challenge and address them, and seek solutions to overcome them by empowering women, men, girls, and boys, as well as sexual minorities such as transgender persons and MSM. Programs that integrate both PYD and gender transformative interventions well should do things like engage youth in meaningful, provocative dialogue about gender and overall betterment of their community and society as a whole and integrate young people at all stages of the process. For more information please see USAID’s Positive Youth Development and Gender Transformative Checklist and the Gender Integration Continuum User’s Guide.
