Faith and family planning may seem like unlikely partners, but in Uganda and across the East Africa region, faith-based organizations play a transformative role in advancing reproductive health. This was demonstrated during a recent knowledge café hosted in Uganda, a collaboration among the IGAD RMNCAH/FP Knowledge Management Community of Practice (KM CoP), Knowledge SUCCESS, and the Faith For Family Health Initiative (3FHi).
Learning Circles are highly interactive small group-based discussions designed to provide a platform for global health professionals to discuss what works and what doesn’t in pressing health topics. In the most recent cohort in Anglophone Africa, the focus was addressing emergency preparedness and response (EPR) for family planning and sexual and reproductive health (FP/SRH).

In June 2024, twenty professionals working in various capacities in Family Planning and Reproductive Health (FP/RH) joined a Learning Circles cohort to learn, share knowledge, and connect on a topic of emerging importance, Domestic or Local Resource Mobilization for Family Planning in Asia.
Advocacy often takes unexpected forms, as demonstrated by a "Fail Fest" that led to the adoption of two significant resolutions by eight Ministers of Health from the ECSA region. At the 14th ECSA-HC Best Practices Forum and 74th Health Ministers Conference in Arusha, Tanzania, this innovative approach encouraged candid discussions on AYSRH program challenges, sparking impactful outcomes.
