Knowledge management was a key component in the creation of Kenya’s FP2030 Commitments.
In August 2020, Knowledge SUCCESS embarked on a strategic initiative. Responding to knowledge-sharing needs expressed by adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH) professionals, it established a robust global Community of Practice (CoP). It worked collaboratively with a group of AYSRH professionals to create the NextGen Reproductive Health (NextGen RH) CoP.
Madagascar has remarkable biodiversity with 80% of its flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world. While its economy is highly reliant on natural resources, significant unmet health and economic needs drive unsustainable practices. In the face of growing uncertainty—Madagascar is extremely susceptible to climate change—we spoke to Madagascar PHE Network Coordinator Nantenaina Tahiry Andriamalala about how early population, health, and environment (PHE) successes have led to a rich network of organizations working to address health and conservation needs in tandem.
The East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda seem to have one common challenge in the implementation of family planning and reproductive health programs—knowledge management. The countries are rich in family planning and reproductive health knowledge, but such information is fragmented and not shared. To tackle the identified challenges, Knowledge SUCCESS mobilized family planning and reproductive health stakeholders in the region to address the knowledge management jigsaw puzzle.
Today, as we mark the celebration of Earth Day, we are pleased to announce the launch of People-Planet Connection—a new learning and collaborative space co-created by and for global development professionals at the intersections between human population, health, and the environment (PHE). Visit the new space at peopleplanetconnect.org.
In nearly eight years at the helm of the Systematic Approaches to Scale-Up Community of Practice (COP), the Evidence to Action (E2A) Project grew the community from several committed partners in 2012 to nearly 1,200 members worldwide today. With sustained engagement from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), core technical partners and founding members, ExpandNet, and the IBP Network, the COP advanced the field of scale-up.
