Dr. Asmani Chilanga, Family Planning Programme and Policy Advisor, UNFPA West and Central Africa Regional Office, Dakar, Senegal. Chilanga Asmani is a public health specialist specializing in medicine and medical anthropology. He has worked on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) programs for over 15 years with a number of organizations, including Save the Children, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) regional office for Africa, and joined the WHO regional office for Africa inter-country support team based in Ouagadougou in April 2019. Chilanga's professional career has included areas of work in project management, technical assistance, strategic planning, health systems strengthening, policy dialogue, innovative demand creation initiatives, adolescent SRH services, health information management systems, quality of care, results-based approaches, human rights and more. In its current role, Chilanga supports 17 West African countries to strengthen their SRH programs, including family planning programs.
