Onyimbi Nelson is an SRHR Advisor for VSO International (Voluntary Service Overseas) under the ACTIVE Project in Kilifi. In this role, he works in interventions for health, inclusive education, and livelihoods within Kilifi. To achieve this, he works with a team to conduct health impact assessments and vulnerability context analyses to inform adaptation strategies for vulnerable members of society including young girls, women, and persons with disabilities. He also sits in various Kilifi County Technical Working Groups and contributes to developing policy documents. Nelson has also spoken in local radio shows and podcasts for social inclusion in education and health.
He is also a seasoned health economics writer with a number of his articles regularly shared in the daily newspapers. Until now, he has participated in national and regional conferences with abstract paper presentations, the development of several policy documents, successful budget advocacy, and partnerships.
