Knowledge SUCCESS’ Brittany Goetsch chatted recently with Dr. Mohammad Mosiur Rahman, Professor, Department of Population Science and Human Resource Development, University of Rajshahit, the principal investigator (PI) of the research team, to learn how they used secondary data sources to explore the similarities and differences in facility readiness to provide FP services across 10 countries.
A team of four faculty - Isha Karmacharya (lead), Santosh Khadka (co-lead), Laxmi Adhikari, and Maheswor Kafle - from the Central Institute of Science and Technology (CiST) College wanted to study the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on FP commodities procurement, supply chain, and stock management in Gandaki province to determine if there were any variations and effect on FP service delivery. One of the team members from Knowledge SUCCESS, Pranab Rajbhandari, talked with the study’s Co-Principal Investigator, Mr. Santosh Khadka, to learn about their experiences and learning of designing and implementing this study.

On August 10, 2022, the Knowledge SUCCESS project and PATH hosted a bilingual peer assist to address the issues and challenges identified by Senegal’s group of Self-Care Pioneers to better advance their progress in the field.

On January 25, Knowledge SUCCESS hosted “Advancing Self-Care in Asia: Insights, Experiences, and Lessons Learned,” a panel conversation featuring experts from India, Pakistan, Nepal, and West Africa. The speakers discussed the feasibility and future of self-care for family planning (FP) in Asia and lessons learned from program experiences in West Africa.
This is a curated collection of resources for integrating FAM, including the Standard Days Method, TwoDay Method, and Lactational Amenorrhea Method, into family planning programs as well as introducing Fertility Awareness (FA) education into health and youth programs.
Since 2017, the rapid influx of refugees to the Cox’s Bazar district of Bangladesh has put additional pressure on the local community’s health systems, including FP/RH services. Pathfinder International is one of the organizations that has responded to the humanitarian crisis. Knowledge SUCCESS’ Anne Ballard Sara recently spoke with Pathfinder’s Monira Hossain, project manager, and Dr. Farhana Huq, regional program manager, about experiences and lessons learned from the Rohingya response.
Dans le contexte de la pandémie de Covid, l’autosoin est apparu comme une approche pratique et importante permettant de réduire la pression sur les systèmes de santé mis à rude épreuve, de réduire les inégalités d'accès à la santé et d'améliorer les résultats en matière de santé, en particulier pour les plus vulnérables. Promouvoir l’autosoin à travers un fort engagement des différentes parties prenantes de la santé, y compris le secteur privé et public peut se révéler fructueux au Sénégal. Et, un accompagnement adéquat à la pratique de l’autosoin peut aider les gens à gérer leur propre santé et permettre aux systèmes d'être mieux équipés pour atteindre la couverture sanitaire universelle (CMU).
