This is exactly what Knowledge SUCCESS set out to change with the introduction of the Learning Circles regional cohort series. Informal, cross-organizational knowledge and information sharing that aligns with regional context are in demand. FP/RH professionals call for new ways to access and use evidence and best practices to optimize FP/RH programs.

Health care systems across the globe have always been based on a provider-to-client model. However, the introduction of new technology and products, and the increasing ease of access to information, has caused a shift in how health services can be delivered—placing clients at the center of health care. Various health areas, including sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), have embraced self-care interventions. These methods increase access to and use of essential health services. This is especially important as health care systems become increasingly overburdened, coupled with the urgency to respond to individuals’ and communities’ SRHR needs across all life stages.
September 26 is World Contraception Day, an annual global campaign that aims to raise awareness about contraception and safe sex. This year, the Knowledge SUCCESS team took a more personal approach to honor the day. The Twin-Bakhaw project advocates for gender equity via sexual and reproductive health services among indigenous populations. Each newborn will have a “twin” mangrove seedling, which the newborn’s family must plant and nurture until it is fully grown. The project exemplifies the importance of family planning and reproductive health interventions in long-term environmental protection measures. This is part 1 of 2.

The EAST framework, developed by the Behavioural Insights Team (BIT), is a notable and well-used behavioral science framework that FP/RH programs can use to overcome common biases in knowledge management for FP/RH professionals. EAST stands for “easy, attractive, social, and timely”—four principles that Knowledge SUCCESS as it designs and implements knowledge management activities to get the latest evidence and best practices into FP/RH programs around the world.
On August 5, 2021, Knowledge SUCCESS and FP2030 hosted the fourth session in the fourth module of the Connecting Conversations series: Celebrating the Diversity of Young People, Finding New Opportunities to Address Challenges, Building New Partnerships. This particular session focused on how to ensure that young people from sexual and gender minorities have their SRH needs met considering the societal challenges they face.
